For the first time in its 34-year history, Denver PrideFest is hosting a women’s music celebration as part of the annual celebration of all things LGBT. The event will feature a women-focused entertainment line-up on the PrideFest mainstage, including the sexy Shelvis – a female Elvis impersonator, as well as bands, burlesque, and more. The celebration will be held at Civic Center Park on Saturday, June 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will kick off on the main stage shortly after the first-ever Denver Dyke March enters the park on Saturday afternoon.
“We wanted to give women their own events this year, to celebrate who we are and all the strides we’ve made over the years,” said Heather Draper, communications and marketing manager at the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Colorado. “This will be a time for women in our community to bond and feel like a major part of the festival.”
